Mapping and observation of various clouds with one stand-off detector

Staying one step in front of the enemy requires to have all the right information. Gathering and analyzing info must be simple. When it comes to chemical attacks, once You find yourself in the high-risk situation it is all about the right information in the right time. Seconds makes the difference. You want critical data to be available without spending too much effort on it as your effort will be needed elsewhere.

Falcon 4G has already proven to have the highest sensitivity for the long-range chemical detection on the market and to work even during conditions where other technologies fail, like inversion, high humidity conditions or low clouds. Being able to detect best thresholds in very far distances, being able to see what nobody else can see is the most important aspect. We not just understand it but deliver it as well. But that is still just the beginning for us. Once You know who the enemy is You want to know where it is, visualize it and understand it – and again with ease and simplicity.

Falcon 4G in the current configuration uses backscattering data (laser reflected from natural particles in the air) to discriminate depth of the cloud. Operator can see how far the cloud starts and what is the concentration as well as how it changes with the distance. Critical information is collected in a simple and quick way removing complexity from the task. No triangulation is needed to map the cloud - no time wasted by moving 2 o 3 detectors in the right position. Even where Falcon 4G is the only device provide such benefit for chemical detection, we do not want to rest but keep protecting warfighters and civilians even better.

Current efforts of our development are focused on increased sensitivity using reflection of aerosols and improving mapping component. We aim to enhance CBRN situational awareness with the goal of protecting military and civilian population. Intention is to make the hot zone observation effortless. Firstly we do show you where the hot-zone is, what is the chemical culprit and what is its strength – all that in 3D and put on the map automatically. No-Go zone that is easy to understand without any prior training. Secondly – if You have a CBRN specialist that needs details they are all easily accessible for further analytics.

How deep is your cloud? In the middle of August we have conducted very successful trials using backscattering from natural aerosols. We were able to drastically improve sensitivity using backscattering detection. Two separate clouds were created, each from mixture of Ammonia (NH3) and Sulfur-Hexafluoride (SF6) in separate releases creating technically four (4) clouds in one straight path. Release of the first cloud was 400-500 meters away and second cloud in the distance behind 600-700m. Falcon 4G was able to distinguish and find each cloud separately providing concentration and the distance of all four of them in real time. Beginning and start of each cloud too. Proudest moment was when we were able to detect and identify concentrations previously detectable only by point detectors.
